| I found a very interesting article here that clarifies what types of energy exist in the realm of D&D v3.5. | |

| You will probably ragefist, but I think I'm going to implement the 4e energy types list. Mostly because it makes more sense.
1. Acid 2. Cold 3. Fire 4. Force 5. Lightning 6. Necrotic 7. Poison 8. Psychic 9. Radiant 10. Thunder Necrotic isn't quite acid. The energy from a Holy Sword spell is typeless, and fits nicely into Radiant. It doesn't affect the rules at all, only makes things easier to conceptualize. And expands Protection From Energy spells and the like. More magic item potential.

Well, actually, you're talking about overhauling energy types. Also, you're trying to fix something that isn't broken: - WoodyTheWoodstar wrote:

2. Cold 3. Fire 4. Force 5. Lightning 6. Necrotic 7. Poison 8. Psychic 9. Radiant 10. Thunder 1,2,3,5, and 7 are included in v3.5. "Force", "Necrotic", "Radiant", and "Thunder" are 4thfag babble for Bludgeoning, Negative, Positive and Sonic. "Pyschic" is either a Pokeman type or possibly a reference to psionics as a whole. I neither use the latter, nor think the prior is applicable to D&D. As for as the Holy Sword spell, the damage in question is identical to the damage of a holy weapon: - SRD wrote:

The very literal and lovely thing to do would be to say that the extra 2d6 is "Good" damage. Although technically not an energy type, I'd recommend keeping the alignment affiliation the way it is. Mostly because it makes more sense. Especially when you consider the hoards of "Good" spells and effects, damage reduction bypass conditions, planes of existence, and the fact that it's already fully integrated into v3.5 rules. /ragefist
